OUR PELVIC HEALTH PHYSIOTHERAPISTS
Lianne Van Gaalen
Registered Physiotherapist & Owner
I graduated from the University of the Fraser Valley with a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology, and in 2015 completed my Masters of Physiotherapy at Queens University. My husband, Garth, and I opened Pacific North Wellness with the mission of creating a welcoming space for our team and for our community. A space where we can empower clients in health and to provide exceptional quality care.
I am passionate about helping people of all ages and abilities reach their personal goals. By combining my physical therapy skills with my prior experience as a competitive athlete and personal trainer, I hope to help people get back to their previous levels of participation and activity.
I’ve taken additional training in Pelvic Health Rehabilitation, Functional Dry Needling (IMS), Manual Therapy, Neurokinetic Therapy (NKT), Soft Tissue Release, and Management in Post-Concussion Syndrome.
My passion for pelvic floor rehab started while I was pregnant with my son. I quickly realized that there was a huge gap in care when it came to supporting people with pelvic floor dysfunction. I want people in our community to have access to pelvic care so they can feel strong, supported, and get back to doing any activity they want.
My treatment practice includes using manual therapy techniques to help reduce pain and improve function, a lot of education, and exercise prescription for long lasting relief and self-management.
I love the Fraser Valley and all the outdoor activities it has to offer. You’ll often find me on the trails running, hiking, or snowboarding!
