OUR FASCIAL STRETCH & YOGA TEAM
Kara Coleman
Fascial Stretch Therapist
Fascial Stretch Therapy is one of the quickest, most effective, and pleasant methods to eliminate pain, restore function, move and feel better in fitness, sports, and life! This is a neuromyofascial manual therapy that focuses on the connective tissue system rather than isolated muscle treatment.
Kara is a Level 2 Fascial Stretch Therapy Practitioner having studied under the Stretch to Win Institute in Arizona. Along with being a certified yoga instructor, Kara is also trained in Yoga for Youth, Trauma Sensitive Yoga, and sport specific conditioning.
Kara had owned Parallel Yoga for 10 years and is the mobility and recovery specialist for several high performance sports teams and academies in the Fraser Valley.
Garth Van Gaalen
Kinesiologist, Yoga Instructor
As a Kinesiologist, I get to help people achieve their fitness, strength, or athletic goals. I enjoy building a connection with my clients to motivate and encourage them to exercise outside of their comfort zone. By combining in-depth knowledge of movement with client-customized plans and a positive, calm approach, I guide clients toward achieving their goals.
I earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology from the University of the Fraser Valley, while competing on the University Volleyball team. I believe it is important to continue to learn so I am certified in Functional Movement Systems (FMS), Precision Nutrition, Yoga Alliance 200, and golf fitness through the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI).
For as long as I can recall, I’ve been drawn to sport, and believe that participating in a variety of movement activities is one key to having a fit, healthy body. I strongly believe strength training is an important component of fitness but hiking, climbing, paddling, and swimming are also great when done outside in the amazing natural environment we call home.
When we decided to open Pacific North Wellness, Lianne and I knew that we wanted to create a space where both our clients and our team feel valued and connected to a community. I am excited to see our community grow and continue to provide high level service.
